Project Overview
This is the 125th Anniversary Project of St Aloysius College. We felt that St
Aloysius College has to reach out to the poorer sections of our people in the
north Karnataka region.
Bishop of Shimoga invited us to take up this
challenge in Harihar. There are no good PU Colleges in this area, and hence we
felt that starting a PU college, eventually to be a First Grade College, would
be a great service to these people.
Benefits of the Project
The types of beneficiaries of this project will be mostly children from the
economically weaker sections of this region. There will be 175 children admitted
in 2005 and eventually will have the capacity for 2000 students.
A College in Harihar would also help our poor students from Mundgod and
surrounding regions to get quality education. Education will help these families
to have better quality of life, and the children can have better opportunities
in life in this economically backward region.
That also would bring up the eThat also would bring up the economic status of
these people, and generations to come would benefit from the good education that
will be imparted at this location.
